How does the book of John differ from the other three canonical Gospels?

The book of John is different in the fact that the other canonical Gospel are seen as alike. John is unique, has its own language, idiom, and its own chronology of the ministry of Christ. John has its own theology, and its own view of the identity and works of Jesus.
